Start: Mytholmroyd community car park (just off Burnley rd) SE011260; Meet by mountain rescue station to right of community centre
Pub: dusty miller (myth) or stubbing wharf (heb)
Route: Stoodley Pike via Dicks Lane. Pennine Way to Giddings Dam (highest beach in the country), Return along langfield edge to withens gate. Then Mary Townley loop and pennine bridle way to pinnacle lane. Hebden bridge and Rochdale canal to mytholmroyd.

B: Winnats Pass walk with fixed rope; Approx 8.0ml

Start: Mam Nick Car Park SK141820;   Free for National Trust Members.
Pub: Plenty of pubs in Castleton if desired

Route: Walk goes in clockwise direction. Start at Mam Nick Car Park onto Mam Tor. Follow the ridge and drop down to Losehill Farm before reaching Lose Hill. Through Castleton leaving along Goosehill to gully at SK141826 near Speedwell Cavern. Ascend the gully assisted by a fixed rope. Then follow the top of Winnats Pass to the gate at SK141825.  Then either cross the road and go back to Mam Nick via Winnats Farm or explore the area from the gate at the top of the pass which is not shown on the 1:25000 OS map. Anyone not happy with fixed rope – the option is Winnats Pass.
