Beudy Mawr BBQ Weekend Meet Dave Atkinson
For this one, at this stage, just let me know if you would like to book a bed or beds and for which night or nights, or indeed if you will just be coming down for the day.
I am not quite sure how the barbecue bit is going to work but I will be gathering intelligence on that, and if you plan to come along, I will be able to give you more details. Ideally, it will be a gorgeous day, there will be a convivial gathering outside the Hut, and everything coming off the barbecue will be perfectly cooked and completely delightful.
As far as getting on the hill is concerned, my only input will be linking you up with others if you are new to the Club.

Assemble at The Rambler Inn on Friday evening for a prompt start at 10 p.m. A
Rucksack Club ‘classic’ walk of circa 50 miles initially heading to Marsden overnight, for
a light breakfast in the early dawn, and then simply turning round and head back, with
the main posse, arriving back in Edale around 4 p.m.‐ hopefully!
I will check with The Rambler nearer the time but they usually let us park in their
car park for the weekend, subject to a nominal charge which is payable at the bar. I will
also try to persuade a kind person to provide breakfast for us at Marsden, so please let
me know earlier in the week if you intend coming along (on the usual contact numbers
as per Handbook).Saturday 4 January 2025

Picture a warm and muggy room with loghts on and wood burner blazing. A table piled high with food and friendly faces all around. Each face showing the signs of windburn whilst tales of derring-do and a great day out fill the room. The rain continues to lash outside the gabble end and the trees strain in the wind and dark outside.
Now put yourself in that picture. Do it, right now! Sign up to my Beudy meet this January and it can all come true!
Yes another opportunity to enjoy good company and entertainment at the Club's spiritual home in North Wales. As per normal, I have no plans other than to cater for all on the Saturday evening, veggie and gluten free options available. So pack toys for snow, rock, heather and quarry. Please come and join me at Beudy Mawr for a weekend of winter fun in Snowdonia. This meet is aimed at, but not exclusively, for new and associate members to experience a meet at our Welsh hut. I will provide a meal on Saturday night. I will arrange a mountain walk but weather dependent climbing or cycling may also be appropriate. You are also very welcome to amuse yourself as well. Please let me know by Tuesday evening if you wish to attend and any dietary requirements.

Join us 22nd Feb-1st of March 2025 at https://www.campingalaguar.com/ for great ridges to scramble along, some Via Ferratas to clamber up,canyons to explore, a range of sport and trad climbing and opportunities for trail running and cycling. There is a Cicerone guide we've been working our way through (Mountain Adventures Costa Blanca), and when we were there last year Todmorden Fell Runners were there in force winning lots of prizes in races near by.
We've booked one bungalow at the campsite; there are currently three more available to book, each sleeping 4 in a double and a bunk room. There is also space for tents and vans. It is a great site where the owners are friendly, we've been able to socialise in the unused bar/restaurant space above reception and there is a bar in the village.
Book by email (they speak good English) and mention the Rucksack Club. Ivan and Mari will offer you a discounted rate of 420 Euros for the week for a bungalow. Do contact us (Paul and Rachel) for more information.
