After the virtual zoom version in 2020, and the reduced capacity affair last year, the Gogarth Meet will (fingers crossed) be back to its full octane, face-to-face fun this June! No more 'you're on mute'; no wait-lists and waivers; just a huge bunch of Rucksackers and friends assembled at the best crag in the world topped off with a gigantic beach BBQ.

We've got a bit of catching up to do to make up for lost time, so do invite friends and family along and let's see if we can fill the beach! It goes without saying that the climbing will be world class, but there's something for everyone on Holy Island: paddling (in boats or with your trousers rolled up), pedalling, walking, twitching or simply building sand castles. Any thing is fair game as long as it helps build up an appetite (and thirst!) ahead of the beah BBQ!

In terms of logistics, plans will be familiar to anyone who's been along for any of the past 20 years.

Camping is prebooked at Valley of the Rocks hhttps://goo.gl/maps/WHtttGVJG5DkdWxf7 - you don't need to book separately but on arrival please let them know you are there. They're offering a special rate for the Rucksack Club and are thrilled to have us back after a disrupted couple of years so be sure to say Hi and thanks.

The Saturday morning rendezvous is,as usual, The South Stack Cafe which opens at 10am.  https://goo.gl/maps/8XDRPNpPknzXK4xU6. They are expecting us and laying on extra supplies of bacon and /egg butties etc. Note ...there is now a parking fee at South Stack - bring coins!!

Beers and other aperitifs will be served on the beach at Port Dafarch from 7 pm https://goo.gl/maps/REsjwTGj2f6XsC7 with food from 7.30 pm or thereabouts. No whinging if you are late and miss the hot food or have ton incinerate your own.

Let me know if you are planning to be there and whether you prefer your BBQ fare to be plant based or meaty. Get in touch if there is any more info you need or if you want me to try and fit you up with a climbing/walking/paddling/sandcastle buddy. We're looking forwards to seeing you all!

I will provide a meal with a vegetarian option on the Saturday night for £5. I will be at the hut from 6pm on the Friday night. names to me by Wednesday 6th July please.

This is mainly intended to be a climbing meet at Beudy. Of course, you don't have to climb to join the meet, all are welcome whatever your activity. Iwill provide a meal on the Saturday evening.

Here's hoping we'll get routes done on Cloggy and other great crags.

Despite theor modest height, the Malvern hills offfer a fine , scenic, expedition of 18km and 950m of ascent if traversed in theor entirety - which is our plan. The highpoint, Worcestershire Beacon, is a mere425m, but the highlights of the walk are the two Iron Age hill forts on Midsummer Hill and Herefordshire Beacon;the later in particular is on a huge scale.

As this is a linear walk that we will be doing from south to north, we will meet up at the Lower Cockshot Car Park, Malvern, WR14 2UE (SO779470) at 9.30am where we will leave one or more cars , then drive to Chase End Street (SO766351) to begin the walk. The Malvern car park is free and close to Malvern Link station f or those of you travelling by rail.

Of course as a linear route it has a 'double' potential- why waste time on the car shuttle when you could be out on the hill? Any so tempted is advised to contact the organisers and to make an earlier start - or to run it.

For our Sunday outing we propose a walk over the Hergest Ridge and Bradnor Hill near the Welsh border. We suggest an overnight stay in Kington, which has a campsite near the river Arrow (Fleece Meadow) as well as several Inns. We hope you will join us on the walks and perhaps in the bar of the Royal Oak Inn on the Saturday evening. Please let us know if you are intending to come.
