Saddleworth Five Trigs

Coordinator: Pete Edgerton

This circuit of roughly 20 miles could be described as a connoisseur’s walk if the
conditions are good, or a bog trot if not! We shall start in Greenfield and visit the
trigs of Alphin, Featherbed Moss to the south of the Chew Reservoir (we all know what
that name means), Black Hill, West Nab off the Meltham road and finally Broadstone
Hill, returning via the obelisk above Pots and Pans. I have tried to book good weather
but they can’t guarantee it will be delivered in time.
Meet at 0830 on Friezeland Lane by the back of the Robert Scott factory, where
there is usually parking available at weekends. Let me know beforehand if you are
intending to come along so I don’t leave without you.
