Only a few days to go and we have an exciting programme of events planned over the weekend.
Activities
Friday night is a free night for guest to do as they please and catch up with old friends. I’ll be in the hotel bar from about 9:30 for anyone who wants to moan about provide constructive criticism on the running of the club.
On Saturday we have several meets taking place. Final details will be in the appropriate WhatsApp groups, so if you are not yet a member, now’s the chance to join up! Just scan the QR code in the handbook to join. Summary details below
Cycling organised by Rae Pritchard – Approx 70km departing from the hotel at 10 prompted
Running organised by Helen Pritchard – Approx 21km departing from Conway at 10:30, but lifts available from the hotel – Please contract Helen.
Walking organised by Eddie Birch – Depart from outside the hotel at 10:15
Climbing – Venue TBC. Check the climbers WhatsApp nearer the time.
On Sunday there will a traditional post dinner walk leaving the Hotel at 10:30.
Dinner
The plan is to be seated and ready to eat by 7:30. We will start to meet in the bar area from 6:30 for pre-dinner drinks. All speeches will be after the dinner and our guest is Andy Cave.
This year also sees the introduction of the inaugural Rucksack Annual Dinner Quiz, and each table will have several quiz sheets so you can test your brains if the conversations run dry (don’t get too excited as there are unlikely to be any prizes).
Wine
You will be able to pre order wine from arrival at hotel up until pre-dinner drinks at Bar on Saturday.
Parking
The hotel has a small carpark at the rear of the hotel, this is based on first come first served, there is pay and display parking along the promenade at the front of the hotel between 10am-4pm and free overnight. If any guests have a blue badge, parking anywhere in the town is un-restricted. If you are unable to park in our hotel car park, we do advise guests to double park alongside the hotel where a porter may assist with luggage, and reception can direct where alternative parking may be available. I would also recommend parking at the Train Station which is a 5-minute walk to the hotel and payment can be made and updated if guests download the Train Station App
Don’t forget the hotel has a swimming pool.
