Route: E then N along footpaths to Running Hill Lane SE010069. E then N along Running Hill Gate track to Running Hill Pits. S to Broadstones and Sykes' Pillar. Follow paths roughly S/SW via Slades Rocks and Oven Stones to Aldermans edge. Steeply down to Binn Green car park and then via Waterboard track to cross Yeoman Hey dam. E up the old incline and then via paths to Ashway Rocks and round to Raven Stones. SE across open moor to the Platt Memorial cross. Follow edge path round via Dovestones Edge to the Cairn on Fox Stones. Continue along the edge path via Bramley's Cot, above Charnel stones round to Rob's Rocks (Dish Stones) and continue to Chew dam. From the S end of the dam, W along the edge path via Wilderness (Chew Hurdles) to Stable Stones and then via Wimberry Rocks to Alphin Pike. NW down obvious path to join Intake Lane. Follow lane/track to SE002035. N down via Tanner's Mill to A635 at SE002040. Via A635 & Tunstead Lane to SE006044. N via Yarns Hill and various paths to SE007054. N along paths via Pob Green to return to the delights of the Church Inn and the cars.
The route can be shortened by any of the following;
A. For a 10am Start: From the cars go direct to Alderman's via Pob Green and Pots and Pans to meet the early starters at Alderman's Edge.
B. From the E end of Yeoman Hey dam go up the old incline, but then continue E to join the edge path at Ashway Stone and then round to Dovestones (Fox Stones).
C. From Wimberry Rocks drop down steeply down Rams Clough and then via Bank Lane and Hollins Lane to SE006044.
