Route: a.m. via R. Lathkill to Alport, riverside track to B5056 232647, fp rd SE to Stanton in Peak, Lees Rd and fp S over Stanton Moor to Birchover and pub.
Route p.m. fp Wly back to B5056, pick up Limestone Way to Youlgreave, fp NNW to Over Haddon. Note: The riverside track from Alport is private and I have obtained permission from the Haddon Estate to walk along it. On the way we will pass Alport Mill (which still has it's wheel, I believe) and considerable remains of lead smelting, including a large (ruined) cupola. We will also view a number of prehistoric sites including (but not limited to) the well-known stone circles on Stanton Moor.
