It was great to see so many friends and members at last year’s Rucksack Club Gogarth Meet – we broke all records with a turnout of 90 (yes, NINETY!) on the beach for the BBQ. Why change a winning formula? Amongst the many reasons to come along to this Club Classic Meet: Best Crag in the World; Tremendous scope to Climb / Walk / Bike / Paddle or Chill / Bird Watch or Sunbathe! Great social on the beach around the BBQ. Take note of the date – another shuffle to fit around the arrival and departure of the wet stuff the tides are dictating a slightly later than usual slot. Tide times are very amenable: Low Tide is at 15:50 on Saturday – just right for a leisurely start after breakfast at South Stack Cafe! In terms of logistics we will be sticking to the tried and trusted formula: We will be camping, as usual, at the Valley of the Rocks campsite at GR SH238806. The meet will kick off at 10:00 on Saturday at the South Stack café: GR SH207823. We’ll climb / walk / paddle / bike until our arms / legs / backsides are tired and then retire for a well-earned ‘sundowner’ on the beach at Porth Dafarch Beach: GR SH234800. This will be followed by a BBQ (Food at 7:30pm – no whingeing if you stay on the crag until dark and then there’s nothing left!) and bonfire. Sunday breakfast will also be at the South Stack café before more of the same... It’s helpful if you can let us know if you are coming – We will organise food and beer at the usual credit-crunch busting cost. Bring the family and friends – the more the merrier! How about making it A HUNDRED this year? Let us know if you need more directions, a climbing partner, or simply want to place an advanced order for veggie burgers. We look forward to seeing you all there. Keep an eye on the website or Facebook for updates and a possible early gathering.
