A President’s Meet with a difference – 12 routes, 17 pitches and 60km of cycling.
Please join me in attempting to complete the Peak Classic Rock round in a day. The
meet will be based at the Three Stags’ Heads campsite at Wardlow Mires. The plan is an
early start on the Saturday and a west to east route starting at Hen Cloud and finishing
at Stanage, followed by a celebratory pint or two at the Three Stags’ once we have
managed to cycle back to Wardlow! If you don’t fancy the full challenge, alternative
means of transport are allowed (any RCs brave enough to run it?) or you could spread
the routes over two days. For the non‐climbers there are plenty of nice walks and rides
from Wardlow and the Three Stags’ is a pub that has to be experienced, so please come
along.
I should be able to transport eight people and bikes from Wardlow to the start and
due to the uncertain timings (and my likely exhaustion) I am afraid I won’t be providing
a meal on the Saturday, you’ll need to fend for yourselves. I am currently planning to
use a road bike, which means slightly further to cycle but will probably be faster
overall.
