OPENING OF CRAIGALLAN FROM APRIL 2021

OPENING OF CRAIGALLAN FROM APRIL 2021

I am pleased to be in a position to take bookings again from Rucksack Club Members wishing to use Craigallan.  Members who intend to make a booking must agree to comply with the:

Risk Assessment and;

Conditions of Use,

which are available on the website (click on the document name to open it).  My understanding of the latest Scottish Government regulations, and including Rucksack Club decisions, allows for the following:

From 26 April: One household up to four people.

From 17 May: One booking for up to two households known to and trusted by each other with up to four people.  Children (probably under 12) may also be allowed in addition but I await clarification on this.

From Early June: As above with an increase to six people.

CAMPERVANS

From 26 April: Up to three self-contained vans with no access to the hut.  Maximum six people in total.

From Early June: Maximum total number of people in three campervans increases to eight.

These regulations may change and we will respond with further easing if allowed.  The situation beyond June in Scotland is very unclear at the moment and I can find no evidence of any establishments offering dormitory accommodation in July and August.  Therefore, I intend to take bookings with the above criteria through until the end of August.  Anyone booking in July and August needs to be aware that if regulations are relaxed the Club may decide to revert to pre-Covid use of the Hut.  This would mean that additional people will be allowed to use the Hut at the same time as those who have already booked.

All booking enquiries must be by email – no telephone bookings, but you are welcome to call to discuss the evolving situation.

Please remember:

NO ON SPEC USE OF THE HUT

ACCESS ONLY BY KEYCODE USING PORCH DOOR – MAIN DOOR IS BOLTED

I hope a good number of people are able to enjoy the use of Craigallan from the end of April.
