Happy New Year from myself and the others on the first Wednesday walk in 2018 on 3rd Jan. Conditions were better than forecast, but Windgather lived up to its name. All New Year eve cobwebs were blown away by the 50 mph wind on the exposed section to Shining Tor. There were only light showers for 20 minutes. Fortunately we had a dry lunch at the bottom of Shooters Clough. Unfortunately we also had a dry finish as the Shady Oak landlord had decided to go on holiday at 10:30.
