Ravensdale 01.08.2018

Oh What a Night! – Great Entertainment was had by all at Ravensdale at last Wednesday’s evening meet the first day the crag re-opened after an extended bird ban.
A team of veterans (i.e. those still daft enough to climb on polished trad limestone) assembled to re-live their glory days and ticked off a series of routes across Raven Buttress including Conclusor, Delusor, Mealy Bugs, Mealystopheles (nearly!) Ploy and Frore (impossible!).
Andy Tomlinson demonstrated the art of flying and why it is always best to wear a helmet! Whilst Jim Burton sought to take out hut warden Bill Deakin by dislodging a large block. That’s one way of getting out of your hut fees!
“Alls well that ends well”. Andy was OK and the old “cream team” retired to the Red Lion at Litton.
Meet attended by: Charlie Perrin; Ric Gibbon; John Warburton; Bill Deakin; Cec Rhodes; Andy Tomlinson; Alf Gleadell; Jim & Jane Burton.
Special mention for Domininic & Helen Oughton plus Steve George who came to the pub but had the sense (or maybe not) to climb on Garage Buttress.
