Summer alpine meet – update

Hi everyone, just an update on the alpine summer meet. Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances I won’t be able to make it out to Zermatt any more to run this meet. If anyone is keen to take this over and was planning on going let me know but otherwise if you are still going out have a great time. My plan is run this meet next summer instead. Apologies for any inconvenience caused!

We need your photos!

Hi Everyone, With the new year approaching we’re asking for your help to enable us to grow our club social media presence. The aim of the club’s public Instagram and Facebook pages is to help raise awareness of the club and to showcase what we do by publishing posts using photos that highlight our activities. To do this we need photographs from our members getting out there! These can be shots from years gone by or photos of you ‘getting out there’ from last week. Our ask to you is to please look through wherever you store your photos and email in to us any images you have which highlight your activities as a member or the club’s activities more widely. This will really help us to show others what the club is about and what our members get up to now and in times gone by. If you have any photographs you’d like to share with us please email them in to myself or Andrew Barlass at joefisher513@hotmail.com or andrewtbarlass@gmail.com respectively. Thanks in advance! Joe and Andy

Annual Dinner run – 13th Nov

Hi Everyone, For the Annual Dinner weekend in a couple of weeks I am organising a run (as an alternative to Andy T’s walk) on the Saturday. The plan for this is to meet outside the Wilson’s Arms at Torver at 12 and head out for a 2-3 hour jaunt heading up initially to Goats water and then taking in some of the summits around that area depending on weather. It will be a relaxed pace! Please can you let me know if you are planning to join me for this? Just so I have some expectation. Cheers!

(this is pending final confirmation and exact number limits which are to be agreed at the Committee Meeting on the 26th July ) As there is a little over two weeks to go until the weekend of the 7/8th of August I wanted to advertise this as soon as I reasonably could in order to give fair warning to those who want to come, to sign up. So…If you are interested in reminding yourself what our fine Lake District hut is like, and wish to enjoy an almost ‘guaranteed to be sunny’ weekend of climbing / walking / running (other activities also welcome) in the Duddon valley with some of your fellow members then please sign up to the meet now by contacting me by email on joefisher513@hotmail.com. I shall be providing a meal on the Saturday night so please also let me know any dietary requirements you may have. Places will be limited as[…]
