The winter season of Wed evening climbing wall meets is starting today at BlocHaus, Openshaw, a good bouldering venue. As with last year, there will be a 3 week cycle between BlocHaus, Summit Up in Oldham, and Awesome Walls in Stockport. All meets are in the calendar. If you are thinking of attending a meet, it’s best to contact me and others on the Rucksack Club Climbers whatsapp group. Otherwise you can contact me, John Jefferies, via CONTACT US which is in the About menu on this web site. P.S. If you haven’t been to one or more of these venues before, it’s best to pre-register yourself with that venue on their website before turning up, otherwise you’ll have spend 10 minutes registering at the reception.

This weeks evening venue was originally scheduled to be at Summit Up, Oldham. However, they have a Lights Out Night which has proved very popular and is fully booked, so this meet has been moved to Partheon, (formerly MCC).

The forecast is too grim this afternoon with predicted thunderstorms. I’ll be going to a local wall. You’ll be welcome to join me. The venue still TBD.

There will be Wednesday evening climbing meets as usual this winter season. As a change from last year, we’re having 2 week cycles with one week at Stockport, next week at MCC. Starting tomorrow at Stockport. Meet details will be up on the website soon. Cheers all.

After a mostly magnificent summer, it’s that time of year to head indoors on Wednesday’s. I will hopefully see many people there, starting tonight. Same thing as last year, the meets are at Stockport Awesome Walls. [I’ve just noticed that these meets don’t appear on the meets list. That will be fixed soon.] John

The forecast for this afternoon in Bolton is not good, with rain moving west. New Mills isn’t so bad, and it’s overhanging so it’ll stay dry for longer. Hopefully I’ll see you there.
