The 123rd Annual General Meeting of The Rucksack Club will take place on Sunday 11th January 2026 at 3pm. The meeting is being held IN PERSON at Edgeley Community Church, Edgeley Road, Stockport SK3 9NB. Please come – it is your club and we would like to hear from you! Papers for the meeting will be circulated to members electronically in mid-December. If any member wishes to propose an item for consideration at the meeting please inform the Secretary and/or President as soon as possible – for alteration to club rules such proposal should reach the Secretary at least 28 days before the meeting, i.e. by 14 December. Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday 13 January 2025. I expect it will take place by Zoom once more. Full details will be provided and papers circulated nearer the time. This post is simply to ask if any members have important matters that they wish to have considered at the AGM. Our rules require that you send any special business or motions to the Secretary (me) at least 28 days before the meeting, i.e. by 16 December. Peak Climbing Wall – Discount for RC Members

Peak Climbing Wall have kindly offered to give Rucksack Club members a discount. The wall is located in Leekbrook – just outside Leek, Staffordshire (Unit 8, Cheadle Rd, Leek ST13 7DR) – more info here: https://www.peakclimbingwall.co.uk/ Prices are on their website. They are offering members the lower concession rate normally available to seniors (over 65s) or under 18s (and if you are in that group already 10% off that rate). They ask for a basic indication of your membership – taking your Handbook or showing a copy of this post should be ok. Thanks to RC member Nick Bentley for arranging this.
