We have decided to close all three huts. Until the end of April. If any one is thinking of going or knows someone who is thinking of going can they please inform them of the closures. We will try to keep everyone informed as events progress. Thanks for your understanding.

The Newfield Inn has closed for a few weeks . The owners are doing some work and hope to reopen soon. If you are intending to stay at High Moss in the coming weeks and go for a pub meal then the hostelries of Broughton in Furness are probably the nearest. We will try to keep people informed of developments.

The scaffolding crew are removing the last of the scaffolding today. All that remains of the reroofing activity is some builders rubble ( hardcore ) which will be removed soon.

The roof at High Moss has been completely renewed. The redundant chimney flue in the Members bedroom has been removed and the entire chimney stack has been taken down to floor level at bedroom level and rebuilt. It now includes a damproof course and much improved new lead flashing. Our other chimney stack on the front has also been fitted with much improved lead flashing. Two new Velux roof windows have been fitted in the members bedroom. Today the scaffolding is still in place but will be removed and it doesn’t cause any access problems.
