Great News! We’ve beaten off stiff competition from Netflix and Amazon Prime to bring you the EXCLUSIVE first screening of Season 3 of the Virtual Rucksack Club Slideshows. “Season 3” will start in January and will be beamed live into your living rooms on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month – Here’s the draft running order as it stands at the moment:
- January 11 – A Moroccan Double Bill featuring A Bill & Dom’s Excellent Adventure in Taghia and a chance to Rock the Kasbah in the Anti Atlas
- January 25 – A trip up the North Face of the Matterhorn (a.k.a. Le Grand Toblerone) with Dave Sykes and Stan Halstead
- February 8 – Desert Climbing in SW USA featuring the iconic Moonlight Buttress along the way with Jane Gallwey and Sam Simpson
- February 22 – The Life and Times of The Anabasis Mountaineering Club – A 60 year adventure with a Happy Ending with Dave Atkinson and guest stars
- March 8 – An Alpine Apprenticeship – A journey from MUMC Fresher to the Summit of The Matterhorn with Molly Worth
- March 22 – Mystery Guest – (ie I haven’t pinned anyone down yet, but there’s plenty of time to volunteer!!!)
It’ll be a similar format to Seasons 1 & 2, with ‘Doors Opening’ at 7:15pm for a chance to say hello and the ‘performance’ starting at 7:30pm for around an hour including Q&A.

The first two “Seasons” were really well received and became an important part of maintaining community in The Club, as well as being great fun! It’s looking like we might need a bit more zoom to help lift the gloom as we enter 2022, so I look forward to catching up with lots of you for the curtain raiser on January 11th. If you’ve got a few pics or an adventure to share then do get in touch – we’ve got one or two potential slots and can always start recruitment for Season 4 😉
