May often has the best of the spring weather, so the Rucksack Club has a burgeoning programme to take full advantage:
- We start the month with a week-long joint meet with the Climber’s Club at Craigallan, our Scottish hut close to Ben Nevis and Glencoe. With some of the most spectacular routes in the UK on the doorstep, this looks set to be a fantastic meet.
- Just days later we have another joint meet, this time with the Lancaster University MC, but in Wales rather than Scotland and at our cosy Llanberis hut, Beudy Mawr.
- A week later we move to England and our recently-refurbished Lake District hut, High Moss. The theme of the weekend is mountain biking, but no doubt some on the meet will enjoy other activities from this beautiful location.
- We conclude the month with a three-day bike-packing circuit around the Cairngorms, starting in Blair Atholl and passing through Aviemore, Tomintoul and Braemar. That should stretch the legs!
