Beudy: Easter Week

Bill Deakin writes: What with everything else to think about, many of you will have overlooked the fact that Beudy is reserved for Club use from this Friday until the following weekend. At present, only 2 people have booked in and that is for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend so there is plenty of room for you to go and ‘get out there’. The forecast is not that bad and even if the weather is poor, you can still gather round the stove in the dining room and plan your next adventure. Steve has done a lot of work on the chimney breast. Have a look at the picture – we hope you agree that it is ‘in keeping’ with the rest of the place. If planning to go please let Bill know how many places you want to book.

Meetstaff: Electronic and Paper versions

Occasionally members ask if they can change the Meetstaff format they receive. I have received the following from our Membership Secretary [Carole Smithies] that clarifies how to implement such a change: “If a member wants to get a hard copy paper version of MS, or to cease to get hard copy of MS, then he/she needs to let me know and I’ll update the database, which includes an MS print or not tick box which enables me to send the posting list to the printers.” Andy Tomlinson Website Secretary

Helen and Mike ‘Double-Double’

Congratulations to Helen and Mike on completing the “double/ double”!! Keith (The President) writes: “A fresh looking Helen Pritchard and Mike Zeidan having just completed a quadruple Marsden/ Edale starting at 6am Friday and finishing about 3 pm on the Saturday afternoon at the Ramblers Rest. Incredible effort following in the footsteps of Geoff Bell and John Crummett who I believe did a double/ double in 1994. Congratulations to you both!” (apologies, this post first erroneously said Miles – bad typing on our President’s behalf)
