Beudy bookings update (and some other things)

Ben Llewellyn’s cycling meet has been moved to High Moss, so the weekend of 13/14 May is now available. You don’t need to rush to grab this slot – I can’t see you having much competition. Apart from Penny Collier’s meet on 10/11 February, a long standing booking from OBEC (who have been coming to the hut for over 50 years) on 22/23 April and Rae Pritchard’s May Day weekend meet (29 April – 1 May), every other weekend is available until the first week in June, when Beudy is reserved for its 75th anniversary celebration . As at today, that is fourteen (fourteen!) weekends where Beudy will be empty. As far as weekday bookings are concerned, one Member has booked to stay from Easter Monday for 4 days. Other than that, nothing has been booked midweek for the rest of the year. Oh, and all the other weekends in June and most of July are available. Steve and I wonder why. Surely North Wales climbing and hillwalking is still in fashion. Is it because for a lot of people the A55 expressway (ha ha!) makes a day trip easy? Is it a Covid hangover? If so, is there a[…]

Beudy bookings update

Happy new Year! This is how its looking over the next few months. Quite busy this coming weekend (20th to 22nd) but it then looks like the hut could be empty until the end of April, apart from two people booked in for one night on 5th February and Penny Collier’s Club Meet on the following weekend (please contact Penny for further details). Steve and I can’t recollect the last time we had so few bookings at this time of year.

‘2022 – The Year in Pictures’ for the Gallery

As in previous years, I’m on with the round up of pictures depicting the Club’s activities during the year. If you want any of your snaps to be considered for inclusion, please send me your ‘best of …’ as soon as possible. Some of the CAC calendar climbing shots will feature but I’m keen to use images that reflect the wide range of what we do, whether its Type 2 fun or not! Landscape, portrait, people, places – all welcome (but only your best!). I know that some of you have sent me pictures during the year – please have another look in your collections and send me your photographic creme de la creme again (it will at least save me having to cruelly throw some of them onto the cutting room floor). And please remember – I know little about fancy formats. Just send me jpegs as email attachments, with all the numbers changed to a title people can understand (a very brief description and photo credit is enough). Looking forward to being inundated. In the meantime, Happy New Year to all!

Beudy bookings update

Just a quick update. In October, various parties have booked for odd days and the weekend of 22/23 but there is plenty of room if you want to go. The hut is booked out on the last weekend of the month (29/30) for the unveiling ceremony of the picture of Garth, the Anabasis Club’s home for many years. In November, something is happening on every weekend. On the weekend of 5/6, Rob Broomhead has booked the hut on behalf of the Powsers MC, who will be helping Rob celebrate his big birthday! The following weekend is Audrey Russell’s Club Meet (see Meetstaff for details). Penny Collier has booked 7 spaces on the weekend of 19/20 and on the last weekend (26/27) the hut has been booked by Sue Whittle on behalf of the Red Rope club. The hut is available any midweek. For anyone wanting some peace and quiet, or perhaps wanting to avoid Christmas and New Year altogether, there are no bookings at present in December.
