May-June Gallery update

The pictures keep rolling in! Check the Gallery out for the latest additions. Please don’t feel you’ve missed the boat – if you’ve only just got your snaps back from Kodak, Ilford or ProntaPrint, don’t worry – I’ll find room for them! As ever, don’t send them through with a jumble of letters and numbers with an email saying ‘ Here’s some pictures of me on/at (whatever)’ , leaving me to sort it out. Take the trouble to ‘rename’ them with a short title and send them as attachments, so I can download them as a zip file. I still have to do some work on them to get them into the Gallery, so any help is appreciated. Bill

Beudy – July/August availability and Covid update

With the present situation in Wales, there are windows of opportunity as follows:- Nights of 12th/13th July. Nights of 5th/6th August*. Night of 16th through to night of 25th August*. * As it stands. See below. Although technically, we can take bookings from up to 3 households, the small print says that these 3 should be known to each other, already in a bubble, etc, etc. In practical terms, that probably means we can only accept a booking from a single household. The Welsh government are being quite cagey about the next moves out of lockdown. Mark Drakeford, the First Minister, does not sound so ‘gung ho’ as his English counterpart. The next review is on Thursday, 15th July. We will keep you posted. Bill and Steve

Beudy Covid update

The Welsh government announced today that the current rules (as far as they affect Beudy) will remain in force for at least another four weeks. This means that up to 3 households can use the hut, subject to the social distancing and personal hygiene stuff. Self contained motorhomes/campervans can continue to use the grounds. Members are reminded that they must make a booking with Bill or Steve before going to the hut.

CRAIGALLAN BOOKING UPDATE

Hut Warden John Patrick writes:   CRAIGALLAN FULL FOR THE SUMMER Under the current (and continuing) restrictions there are no more blocks of time available at Craigallan until late September.  There is just the odd midweek night between bookings and the 48 hour blocks of downtime.  If anyone is wanting a one night stopover on the way further north they might be lucky but don’t count on it.  There is continuous availability for self contained campervans and the occupants of one van may get access to the downstairs bathroom if there is a Member in the hut at the time who is happy to allow this.  Booking is essential for all campervan parking please. The hut availability will only change if the time comes when social distancing is no longer required and we decide to allow multiple households to sleep in the hut.  I am monitoring other providers with dormitory accommodation but none seem to be suggesting an opening date at the moment.  If a decision is made to allow additional use of the hut I will contact all those who are already booked in as I know there will be a range of views about sharing with multiple households.[…]

Following the latest Government Covid Updates the restrictions are extended until the 19th of July. There are two weekends available at High Moss for two families or bubbles staying. These are the weekends of the 8th to 12th of July and 15th to 19th. There has to be a forty eight hour separation or “fallow ” period between visits which we will manage with the visitors. Anyone fancy it ?

Beudy bookings update

Under latest Welsh Covid rules, from 7 June, up to 3 ‘households’ can join together to become an ‘extended household’. For Beudy, this means 3 sets of people can use the hut communally, subject to following the guidance on social distancing, hygiene measures, etc. The next Welsh review is on 21st June, but personally, I can’t see them straying too far from the English position of delaying a full reopening until mid/late July. Steve and I have Member bookings as follows for the next few weeks:- 18 June (1 household,1 night); 2-4 July (2 households, 2 nights); 16-18 July (1 household, 2 nights); 23-26 July (1 household, 3 nights) 30 July -2 August (3 households, 3 nights). If you want to make a booking, please let me or Steve know. You will need to confirm that everyone has read and will abide by all the Covid stuff on the website. If you have read it, you will know that there are no pillows or tea towels in the hut. That is the position as it stands. If there is any change, we will let you know.
