‘2022 – The Year in Pictures’ for the Gallery

As in previous years, I’m on with the round up of pictures depicting the Club’s activities during the year. If you want any of your snaps to be considered for inclusion, please send me your ‘best of …’ as soon as possible. Some of the CAC calendar climbing shots will feature but I’m keen to use images that reflect the wide range of what we do, whether its Type 2 fun or not! Landscape, portrait, people, places – all welcome (but only your best!). I know that some of you have sent me pictures during the year – please have another look in your collections and send me your photographic creme de la creme again (it will at least save me having to cruelly throw some of them onto the cutting room floor). And please remember – I know little about fancy formats. Just send me jpegs as email attachments, with all the numbers changed to a title people can understand (a very brief description and photo credit is enough). Looking forward to being inundated. In the meantime, Happy New Year to all!

Here’s what its like over the next four months. In December, Reading MC have their regular booking on the weekend of the 9th to the 11th (8 places). In January, Bill Crawley has booked 12 spaces for the weekend of the 20th to the 22nd. In February, Penny Collier has a Club Meet on the weekend of the 10th to the 12th. There are no bookings in March. Apart from those three bookings, the hut is available (aka empty). Come on, you lot – Get Out There!

Beudy bookings update

Just a quick update. In October, various parties have booked for odd days and the weekend of 22/23 but there is plenty of room if you want to go. The hut is booked out on the last weekend of the month (29/30) for the unveiling ceremony of the picture of Garth, the Anabasis Club’s home for many years. In November, something is happening on every weekend. On the weekend of 5/6, Rob Broomhead has booked the hut on behalf of the Powsers MC, who will be helping Rob celebrate his big birthday! The following weekend is Audrey Russell’s Club Meet (see Meetstaff for details). Penny Collier has booked 7 spaces on the weekend of 19/20 and on the last weekend (26/27) the hut has been booked by Sue Whittle on behalf of the Red Rope club. The hut is available any midweek. For anyone wanting some peace and quiet, or perhaps wanting to avoid Christmas and New Year altogether, there are no bookings at present in December.

Mea culpa

Twelve months ago, Keith Towell booked Beudy for this forthcoming weekend (9-11 September). I made a note on last year’s planner chart but didn’t transfer it onto this year’s calendar. Keith will be at Beudy with at least 8 others. Fortunately (?), the hut is empty so all is well.

Beudy bookings update

With cancellations and last minute requests, I thought I’d give you a quick update. Plenty of room this weekend (just 3 or 4 people in), then we have ‘dads and kids’ in during the following week. It’s great to see Members taking their kids to Beudy ( I know the location is not ideal in some respects – on a main road, for instance) but we are looking at the future of the Club here and Steve and I are happy to encourage more use like this. Having said that, there is still space available. Similarly, over the Bank Holiday weekend, only Mike Zeidan ,Julie and little Evie have booked in up to now. September and October bookings are as previously published. In November, the hut has been booked by the Red Rope walking and climbing group for the weekend of 26th/27th. As usual, please let me or Steve Gregory know if you want to stay at Beudy.

2021 – A YEAR IN PICTURES

Its a bit late, I know, but a selection of images from last year is now available to view. I’m no longer going to put out a monthly gallery. Instead, I will be curating a collection for ‘2022 – A YEAR IN PICTURES’ which will be published at the end of the year. Please send me any pictures you have taken so far that you would like to be included. I’ll put a reminder out towards the end of the year for any others.
