I’ve had another look at this, closer in on the original photo, and it looks like the part immediately right of the fallen bit has a gap behind it and could go at any time. I’ve never been there, and I don’t advise going. I have sent the photo to the BMC. The photo in Western Grit doesn’t really show this part, Smiler’s Corner.

There seem to be two routes that have gone, Echantillon and Upset, if that is right it could have been a lot worse.
