Isle of Eigg. Saturday October 13th – Tuesday 16th.

This year the island meet will be on Eigg. I have booked some accommodation in the north of the island near Cleadale. However the accommodation is already fully booked by ‘early bookers’, but there is plenty of space to camp in the grounds of the property. The ferry leaves Mallaig on Saturday 13th at 14.25 and returns from Eigg on Tuesday 16th leaving at 12.45 arriving back in Mallaig at 15.30. Craigallan has been reserved for our use on the nights before and after the meet if so required. If you are interested in coming along please contact me on my normal email address: andy.lou64@virginmedia.com Thanks Andy

Skiddaw House Meet 13-15 February 2019

13th-15thFebruary 2019 Skiddaw House Betty Hamer I am now taking bookings for the meet at Skiddaw House in Feb.2019. As detailed in last meetstaff this meet is now midweek for the nights of Wed 13thFebruary and Thursday 14thFebruary. Skiddaw House is in a fantastic setting, remote and surrounded by the higher hills of the northern fells. It sits at 470m above sea level and is approx. 3-4 miles from the road. Access and parking are available at Threlkeld, Latrigg, Mosedale or to the north at Peterhouse Farm near Bassenthwaite. The young wardens, who previously ran Black Sail Hostel, have made it a welcoming and homely place to stay. There are washrooms and showers, a large kitchen area with hobs, a very comfortable lounge and drying areas. The kitchen and lounge have stoves and there are even hot water bottles in the bunk rooms! There is no need to carry in all your food as they keep a well-stocked shop where it is possible to buy food for your evening meal and breakfasts. There is usually a good range of bottled beers, wine and spirits should you wish to lighten your load further. There is plenty of walking from the door[…]
