Here’s the situation (at present) up to the end of the year:- September – nothing except for the family meet being organised by Rob McGinnes on the weekend of 29th/30th. October – nothing except for Mark and Jackie Hatton’s MTB Meet on the weekend of 29th/30th. November – OBEC (Old Bromsgrovian Expeditionary Club) have booked 11 spaces on the weekend of 3rd/4th, the Hut is reserved for Members on the weekend of the Club Dinner (10th/11th). I have bookings for 6 spaces at present. Chris Foster’s Mines Meet is on the weekend of 17th/18th and Audrey Russell’s Meet is on the following weekend (24th/25th). December – Reading MC have booked 11 spaces on the weekend of 8th/9th. Nothing then until the New Year Meet commencing on Saturday 29th. Let me or Steve (or the appropriate Meet Coordinator) know if you want to make a booking.

A fine finale to the Wednesday evening meet programme, with a couple of very well attended meets at two of The Peak’s finest venues… Cracking the flags and glorious blue skies at Hobby Last hurrah at Hobby! and a more autumnal evening at the perma-dry New Mills Torrs Perma-dry climbing 5 mins from the pub – what’s not to like about New Mills Torrs?

This year the island meet will be on Eigg. I have booked some accommodation in the north of the island near Cleadale. However the accommodation is already fully booked by ‘early bookers’, but there is plenty of space to camp in the grounds of the property. The ferry leaves Mallaig on Saturday 13th at 14.25 and returns from Eigg on Tuesday 16th leaving at 12.45 arriving back in Mallaig at 15.30. Craigallan has been reserved for our use on the nights before and after the meet if so required.
